Who are we?
A Belgian story, a European ambition.
RECORB is a non-profit organisation incorporated under Belgian law, based in Louvain-la-Neuve and officially launched in June 2026 by a group of enthusiasts from the European brewing and cultural sectors.
From Belgian traditions to European heritage
Belgium is the world capital of the brewing tradition. It is therefore no coincidence that RECORB was launched in Brussels, at the heart of Europe. Its headquarters are in Louvain-la-Neuve, in Wallonia, just a stone’s throw from Leuven, home to the world’s largest brewing group.
Belgium’s beer culture, listed as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, illustrates the power of a living heritage. RECORB links this heritage to the historical, cultural and gastronomic richness of European regions to create new reasons to discover them.
Braine-l'Alleud has become the network's first member commune and its first 'Brewing commune'. It combines its microbreweries and estaminets with a major historical heritage, symbolised by the Lion’s mound and its 226 steps. The RECORB network is now waiting just for you.
